Location & Access
Minoshima Station is strategically located in the city of Arida, Wakayama Prefecture, serving as a principal station for the city center. Its convenient position makes it a key transportation hub for both local residents and visitors exploring the region.
Railway Lines
The station is operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West) and is situated on the Kisei Main Line, also known as the Kinokuni Line. It is located 355.6 km from Kameyama and 175.4 km from Shingū. Minoshima Station features one side platform and one island platform, accommodating three tracks. Travel Tips
Minoshima Station experiences a significant surge in passenger traffic, with approximately 30,000 tourists utilizing the station during the annual "Kibun Festival" held in August. On this day, three additional local trains (two towards Wakayama and one towards Gobo) are temporarily operated to manage the increased demand. The station, which opened on February 28, 1924, and was electrified in 1978, is unstaffed but remains a vital link for the community and festival-goers.
