Mikawachi Station is situated in Mikawachi Honmachi, Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture. Although the station name is Mikawachi (三河内), the local address and public facilities use the spelling Mikawachi (三川内). This unstaffed station features two side platforms linked by a footbridge, providing access for passengers.

The station is operated by JR Kyushu and serves the Sasebo Line. It is located 35.7 km from Hizen-Yamaguchi. From Mikawachi, the preceding station towards Sasebo is Haiki, and the following station towards Kōhoku is Arita.
