Railway Lines
The station is operated by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) and is a key stop on the Senseki Line. From Matsushima-Kaigan, travelers can head towards Aoba-dori (23.2 km away) via Rikuzen-Hamada, or in the opposite direction towards Ishinomaki via Takagimachi. The station features one island platform with two tracks, ensuring smooth train operations.
Station History
Matsushima-Kaigan Station first opened its doors on April 18, 1927. Interestingly, it was previously known as Matsushima-Kōen until 1944, reflecting its historical connection to the scenic park area. Today, it remains a staffed station, offering services like Midori no Madoguchi (a ticket office) to assist passengers.
