Kyūshūkōdai-mae Station is conveniently situated in Tobata-ku, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. As its name literally translates to "In front of Kyushu Institute of Technology," it serves as a primary access point for students, faculty, and visitors to this prominent educational institution. Railway Lines
The station is operated by JR Kyushu and is a key stop on the Kagoshima Main Line (station number JA26). It features one island platform, facilitating smooth passenger flow. From Kyūshūkōdai-mae, travelers can head towards Tobata and further south towards Kagoshima, or in the opposite direction towards Nishi-Kokura and Mojikō, connecting to various destinations across the region.
Station History
Kyūshūkōdai-mae Station opened its doors on July 1, 1970. Interestingly, it was previously known as Shin-Nakabaru until November 1, 1990, before adopting its current, more descriptive name. The station has consistently served the local community and the Kyushu Institute of Technology for decades. In fiscal year 2020, it ranked 49th among JR Kyushu stations in terms of passenger numbers, reflecting its importance as a local transport hub.
