Station History
Kōzaki Station officially opened its doors on April 1, 1914. Interestingly, the station's name, Kōzaki (幸崎), differs from the local place name, which is written as 神崎 (Kanzaki). This distinction was made to avoid confusion with Kanzaki Station (神埼駅) in Kanzaki City, Saga Prefecture, and to prevent misreadings. Historically, the Sagaseki Railway also connected to this station. The local area's name was later changed from 神崎 to 本神崎 (Honkōzaki) to differentiate it from another area with the same kanji in the western part of the former Ōita City, near Beppu City.
