Location & Access
Kōen-nishi Station (L06) is situated in Maruyama, Nagakute, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It serves as a crucial access point for the surrounding area, notably being the closest station to Nagoya Shoka University, located approximately 3 km south. Meitetsu buses run every 30 minutes to the university, making it convenient for students.
During the Aichi Expo, the station was near the west gate of the Nagakute venue. The former expo site is now Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park. While direct access was initially limited, a pedestrian and bicycle gate was established about 150 meters east of the station in August 2015, significantly improving park accessibility.
Railway Lines
The station is part of the Linimo (Aichi Rapid Transit Tobu Kyuryo Line), a unique maglev line. It is located 6.0 kilometers from the starting point at Fujigaoka Station. The segment between Geidai-dōri Station and Kōen-nishi Station is the longest on the line, spanning 1.5 kilometers.
Travel Tips
For visitors heading to Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park, the improved pedestrian access from Kōen-nishi Station makes it a convenient entry point. Students attending Nagoya Shoka University will find the frequent bus service from the station to be a reliable transportation option.
