Station History
Opened on February 2, 2006, the station has undergone several name changes reflecting the technological advancements and local landmarks. It was originally known as Port Island Minami Station until July 1, 2011, when it was renamed K Computer Mae Station, in honor of the K computer supercomputer being developed at the nearby institute. Following the decommissioning of the K computer, the station adopted its current name, Keisan Kagaku Center Station, on June 19, 2021.
