Keage Station (蹴上駅, Keage-eki) is a subway station situated in Higashiyama-ku ward, a historic and culturally rich area of Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It serves as an excellent gateway for exploring some of Kyoto's most renowned attractions. Notably, it is the closest subway station to the beautiful Eikan-dō Zenrin-ji temple, famous for its autumn foliage and serene gardens.
Railway Lines
The station is operated by the Kyoto Municipal Subway and is an integral part of the Tōzai Line. It features one island platform serving two tracks. From Keage, travelers can easily connect to other parts of Kyoto. The preceding station is Misasagi (T08), heading towards Rokujizō, while the following station is Higashiyama (T10), heading towards Uzumasa Tenjingawa.

Keage Station officially opened its doors to the public on October 12, 1997, making it 28 years old as of 2024. Since its inauguration, it has played a vital role in the public transportation network of Kyoto, facilitating daily commutes and tourist visits. In fiscal year 2016, the station recorded an average daily ridership of 10,713 passengers, highlighting its significance.
