Location & Access
Kanzaki Station is conveniently situated in Kanzaki, Saga Prefecture, serving as a central hub for the former Kanzaki Town and the current Kanzaki City. Railway Lines
The station is an integral part of the JR Kyushu network, specifically located on the Nagasaki Main Line (JH06). It is positioned 15.7 km from Tosu. The preceding station on the line is Yoshinogari-Kōen, heading towards Tosu, while the following station is Igaya, en route to Nagasaki. Kanzaki Station features one side platform and one island platform, with a total of three tracks, all at grade.
Station History
Kanzaki Station boasts a rich history, having first opened its doors on August 20, 1891. Interestingly, the station has undergone three name changes throughout its existence. Initially named Kanzaki (神崎) with different kanji until November 1, 1907, it then adopted the current kanji Kanzaki (神埼) until May 1, 1945. Finally, it was known as Hizen-Kanzaki (肥前神埼) until April 10, 1956, before reverting to its present name. In fiscal year 2022, the station served an average of 1,274 daily passengers, ranking 116th among JR Kyushu stations.
