Opened on February 3, 2005, Kamo Station has been serving the Fukuoka community for over two decades. Its distinctive station symbol is a violet catfish, a motif directly inspired by the legends of the Kamo Shrine and the nearby Kinkuzu River. The original design concept was created by Isao Nishijima, and after his passing in 2001, his son, graphic designer Masayuki Nishijima, completed the final version. The station's identification color, DIC-455 (purple-blue), is shared with Nanakuma Station.
