Station History
Opened on October 9, 1986, the station initially bore the name Shimotsuke Kamimiyori. It was rebranded to its current, more descriptive name, Kamimiyori-Shiobaraonsenguchi, in 2006 to better reflect its connection to the popular hot spring destination. Despite its remote location, the station recorded an average of 19 daily passengers in FY2016, highlighting its importance to local residents and visitors alike.
