Location & Access

Kami-Ita Station (上伊田駅) is situated in Tagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. It serves as a stop on the Heisei Chikuhō Railway Tagawa Line, offering convenient access to the surrounding area with trains arriving approximately every 30 minutes. While the JR Kyushu Hitahikosan Line runs parallel to the east of the station, it does not serve Kami-Ita, with the nearest JR Kyushu facility being a signal box within the Tagawa-Ita Station premises.

Railway Lines & Naming Rights

The station is primarily served by the Heisei Chikuhō Railway Tagawa Line. Notably, since April 1, 2009, the station has been officially known as Kanda Shōten Kamiita Station (神田商店上伊田駅) due to a naming rights agreement with Kanda Shōten, a local recycling plant. This unique aspect adds a touch of local business integration to the station's identity. Kami-Ita Station is an unstaffed, at-grade station featuring a single side platform.

Station History

Kami-Ita Station opened on March 3, 2001. It's important to note that this station is distinct from a former Kami-Ita Station on the now-defunct JNR Soeda Line, which closed in 1985. Although both stations shared the same location name within Tagawa City, the current station is not a relocation of its predecessor but an entirely new establishment.

Travel Tips

As an unstaffed station, travelers should be prepared to purchase tickets on board or at their destination. The frequent train schedule on the Tagawa Line makes it a reliable option for local travel. Its proximity to the JR Kyushu Hitahikosan Line, while not directly served, highlights its position within a broader railway network in the region.
