Jirōmaru Station opened on February 3, 2005. Its distinctive station symbol is a blue firefly, representing the nearby Muromi River, known for its fireflies. The original design concept for the symbol was created by Isao Nishijima, who also designed symbols for the Airport and Hakozaki Lines. After his passing in 2001, his son, graphic designer Masayuki Nishijima, completed the firefly motif. The station's identification color is a deep blue (DIC-641), shared with Beppu and Fukudaimae Stations.
