Izumi-Chūō Station, also known by its sub-station name Vegalta Sendai·Yursta-mae, is strategically located in Izumi-ku, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture. As the northernmost subway station on the Sendai Subway Namboku Line, it serves as a vital transportation hub. Station History
Opened on July 15, 1992, Izumi-Chūō Station has undergone improvements to enhance its functionality. Due to initial traffic congestion near its sole exit, the city undertook a significant construction project. This project, completed in 2005, extended the underground passageway to an area better equipped to handle a larger volume of vehicles, improving accessibility and flow. In May 2024, the station was specially wrapped to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Vegalta Sendai, highlighting its connection to the local football club.
