Since April 1, 2009, the station has also been known as Kanda Shōten Hoshii Station, following a naming rights acquisition by a local recycling plant, Kanda Shōten. This unique arrangement highlights the station's connection to the local community and businesses.

The station is operated by the Heisei Chikuhō Railway and is a stop on the Ita Line (HC12). It is located 12.8 km from Nōgata Station. The preceding station is Kami-Kanada (towards Nōgata), and the following station is Tagawa Municipal Hospital (towards Tagawa-Ita).

Station History

Hoshii Station first opened its doors on September 17, 1900, giving it a long history as part of Japan's railway network. Over the decades, it has continued to serve the local community, adapting to changes in railway operations and local partnerships, such as the naming rights agreement in 2009.
