Location & Access
Hōfu-Kamotsu Station (防府貨物駅), with its kana reading ほうふかもつ, was formerly located in Emari, Hōfu City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. While the freight station itself is defunct, the associated Hōfu-Kamotsu Off-Rail Station, now known as Hōfu-Kamotsu New Sales Office, continues to operate as a container collection and delivery facility in the area.
Railway Lines
This station was part of the San'yō Main Line, a significant railway artery in western Japan. The San'yō Main Line, owned by JR Group companies, largely parallels the coast of the Seto Inland Sea, connecting Kōbe Station and Moji Station. It is operated by JR West and JR Kyushu, with JR Freight also utilizing its tracks for cargo transport. The line spans 528.1 km between Kōbe and Shimonoseki, with additional sections to Moji and the Wadamisaki Line branch.

Its history as an active freight hub has concluded, transitioning to a more specialized role for container logistics through its successor facility.
