Station History

Opened on April 30, 1912, Hiragi Station once held significant importance as the central station in Miki town. During the era of Takamatsu Electric Railway (one of Kotoden's three predecessor companies), it even housed power generation equipment and sidings, remnants of which can still be observed within the station premises today. Historically, it served as one of the terminal stations on the Nagao Line, alongside Nagao Station. However, its role as the central station in Miki has since been superseded by Gakuen-dori Station, and its importance as a terminal station under the current Kotoden system has diminished.

Travel Tips

For those interested in local railway history, Hiragi Station offers a glimpse into the past with its preserved historical elements. While no longer the bustling hub it once was, it remains a functional and accessible station for exploring Miki and its surroundings via the Nagao Line.
