Its name, 'Atami,' was borrowed from the famous Atami Onsen in Shizuoka Prefecture during the Kamakura period, and 'Bandai' was added to distinguish it from Atami Station in Shizuoka.

Station History

Initially known simply as Atami, it was renamed Iwaki-Atami until 1965 before finally adopting its current name, Bandai-Atami.
