Station History
Aso-Shirakawa Station first opened its doors on February 12, 1928, connecting local communities for decades. The station and the entire Takamori Line faced a significant challenge in April 2016 when severe earthquakes caused extensive damage, leading to a temporary shutdown. However, demonstrating remarkable resilience, service on the line was successfully resumed in July of the same year, restoring vital transport links for residents and visitors alike.
