Ghibli Museum

Музей «Гибли»

The Ghibli Museum was created to introduce visitors to the studio's history, animation process and the unique worlds of its films. Studio Ghibli is the famous Japanese animation studio founded in 1985 by directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, known for films such as Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke. The museum spans three floors but contains so many details that you can spend a long time exploring. It houses themed exhibits from Studio Ghibli worlds, Miyazaki's sketches, models and very precise installations of illustrators' workspaces. The museum preserves the studio's fairy-tale atmosphere. A special highlight is the small theater showing short animated films created exclusively for the museum. Tickets must be booked in advance. Opening hours: 10:00–18:00. Ticket price: 1000 yen.
