Киотский международный музей манги

The Kyoto International Manga Museum opened relatively recently, in 2006. It houses a huge collection of more than 50,000 titles that can be browsed and read on site. It's more of a library than a traditional museum, though there are several exhibitions tracing the development of the art form over the years and artist workshops. The collection also includes antique manga from the mid-19th century. Admission is 900 yen.
