Святилище Фусими Инари
Fushimi Inari Taisha is dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. The main shrine building dates to 1499, but some of its earliest parts go back to 711. Foxes are believed to be Inari’s messengers and are often seen around the site. Walk through the many layered red torii at the start of the route and climb to the top on the sacred mountain; the whole route takes about two to three hours. The best (and truly most beautiful) view, however, appears after 30–45 minutes of climbing at the so‑called Yotsutsuji intersection.
